The goal of the legal clinic is to bring legal services to an underserved community

Twice a week, the AIDS Law Project of Pennsylvania holds clinic hours at Prevention Point Philadelphia. The goal of the clinic is to bring legal services to an underserved community. Lack of photo identification and outstanding warrants prevent many in this community from accessing public benefits and the help they need. For that reason, the AIDS Law Project provides direct representation in helping people get identification and helps in connecting people with public defenders to resolve warrants. If other legal issues emerge during an interview, the AIDS Law Project provides brief advice and/or referrals to appropriate legal services. In addition, the AIDS Law Project provides advice and training as needed to Prevention Point staff to help them better assist their clients.
