On June 27, Prevention Point Philadelphia (PPP) hosted a special community event in the Love Lot for National HIV Testing Day. The PPP testing team, led by Prevention Healthcare Coordinator Kareem Mims, offered free, confidential, expedited HIV testing along with water ice and pretzels. Between noon and 2 pm, we tested 56 individuals. Each person tested received a $5 Wawa gift card as a small thank-you for taking care of their personal health and the health of their communities.
We were joined by Philadelphia City Council Members Jamie Gauthier and Mark Squilla, who were both tested by Kareem in the Love Lot.
Media coverage of the event included:

PPP offers free HIV testing to anyone who comes through our doors, five days a week. Whether your test result is positive or negative, our staff are here to offer the counseling, resources, preventative care, and medical care that you need to stay healthy and empowered.
